About Us

World of Style Vintage has been selling fine vintage apparel, accessories and jewelry for men and women since 2005. World of Style and Your Hostess, Kathleen O'Malley, ran a lively boutique in Beautiful Downtown Jersey City from 2006-2009. We had fun entertaining the public with dozens of fashion shows, usually in collaboration with our pals at Balance Salon. We won awards from the Mayor of Jersey City and Jersey City Lesbian-Gay Outreach. We got great press from the likes of Time Out New York. We gave a whole new look to NYC mayoral candidate Rev. Billy of the Church of Life After Shopping, as seen in the New York Times.

Alas, we have had to change with the economy, but we are still very much in business and still very much a presence in Jersey City! And many of our glorious past moments with Mayor Healy, Reverend Billy and others are immortalized in episodes of the World of Style-Balance Salon TV series, Groovy! At 18 Erie.

World of Style Vintage now offers four main services:

- Sourcing: Theatrical costumers, performers and anyone seeking a particular kind of garment are all welcome to contact Kathleen O'Malley, Fashion Historian. She is an expert vintage treasure-hunter and she does alterations.
- Styling: Are you in search of a new look? Do you want to add vintage to your wardrobe but aren't sure how? Kathleen offers free consultations and will help you put together outfits that flatter your body.
- Retail: World of Style sells online via Babylon Mall and Etsy.
- Restoration: Kathleen is an expert seamstress as well as a fashion historian and she will give your beloved vintage garments a new life. She has replaced the lining in a 100-year-old tailcoat, taken a form-fitting 1930s suit from a size 4 to a size 6, and delved into her vast vintage button collection to rescue numerous coats from the back of the closet.

World of Style Vintage also maintains a carefully edited display in our showroom inside Balance Salon at 18 Erie Street in Jersey City, NJ. See the map below.

We will also continue to work with Balance Salon on live events and on our joint TV series, Groovy! At 18 Erie.
